Updated: Aug 17, 2022

Cushman & Wakefield reps tenant in deal at new mixed-use project on Lake Washington

RENTON, Wash., – February 15, 2022 Cushman & Wakefield announced the firm has represented The Partners Group (TPG), a Pacific Northwest-based consulting, insurance, and financial services company, in the lease of approximately 20,000 square feet of Class A office space for its new local office in Renton, Washington.

TPG’s office will be located at Southport, a brand new mixed-use development located at 1103 Lake Washington Blvd North that is nestled on Lake Washington. The property is owned by Seco Development. TPG plans to relocate and expand its existing office from nearby Bellevue to Renton on October 1. The company’s new waterfront space is situated on the 4th floor of Building 3, the first building entering the 730,000-sf office portion of the 17-acre development. TPG also has office locations in Portland (headquarters) and Bend, Oregon, and Boise, Idaho. Cushman & Wakefield’s Trevor Youngren, Senior Director, represented the tenant in the transaction.

“Seco’s Southport campus impressed us and provided the opportunity to upgrade our space. We look forward to enjoying the incredible outdoor beauty and the amenities close by as well as the first-class office environment on Lake Washington. As a sales organization, we appreciate the vibrancy of the area and are confident it will energize our staff,” said Craig Pankow, Market President at The Partners Group. “One of our core values is to have fun and live well, and this new space fits extremely well within that culture.”

Pankow continued, “Our new Southport office will also provide flexibility and efficiency, allowing us to grow with a smart desk-sharing plan coupled with a work from home model that best suits our company, the environment and employees.”

TPG also envisions their new location as an ideal gathering place to entertain clients and guests, whether in the office or taking advantage of the many amenities on and surrounding the project. In addition to several on-site retail and restaurant offerings, Southport is walkable to an assortment of amenities, including direct access to the 57-acre Gene Coulon Park offering outdoor recreation activities, the marina, over 600,000 sf of shopping at the Landing with movie theaters, restaurants, and fitness, a Hyatt Regency and other hotels, golf entertainment, and more. Plentiful housing options and the nearby Renton Municipal Airport are also perks.

An extension of the interior workspace, TPG also intends to spruce up its outdoor deck space with new furniture, outdoor heaters and other features to create a pleasurable environment where employees can socialize, read, relax/recharge, or simply enjoy the lakeside view.

Trevor Youngren said, “The Partners Group is an employee-centric firm and it was very important that we identified a high quality space in an amenitized location that the company’s employees would enjoy and want to come to work and connect, while also providing a healthy environment. Southport was a great fit that fulfilled all of these primary requirements and I know the company, and myself, are very excited for their future opening at this Class A project.”

Founded in the Northwest in 1981, TPG has been ranked one of the top 100 largest insurance brokerage firms in the US. The firm is also one of the largest independent brokerages in the Pacific Northwest.
